"Okoa" is a Swahili word that means "rescue" — underscoring our responsibility to identify and rescue the most vulnerable, especially mothers and children, from challenging circumstances.
Okoa Mother Child Initiative (OMC)The Okoa Mother and Child Initiative (OMC) is a dedicated group of humanitarians committed to actively empowering mothers and children with a focus on health, economic stability, and essential social skills, all aimed at catalysing transformative change within communities.
Established in 2015, our team initially engaged in community outreach projects within the Eastern Region districts, shedding light on the struggles faced by mothers and children due to a lack of vital life skills. Recognizing the pressing need to expand our reach and impact, we officially registered the Okoa Mother and Child Initiative (OMC) with relevant government authorities in 2021.

Okoa's mobile clinic saved my baby's life. The nurses came to our village and gave us vaccinations and nutrition advice. My daughter is healthy now, and I've learned so much.
The clean water project changed everything. My children no longer get sick from dirty water, and I can focus on growing food for my family. Thank you, Okoa!
As a young mother, I attended Okoa's literacy classes. Now I can read to my son and help him with his homework. I feel empowered and hopeful for our future.
