The Okoa Mother and Child Initiative (OMC) is a dedicated group of humanitarians committed to actively empowering mothers and children with a focus on health, economic stability, and essential social skills, all aimed at catalysing transformative change within communities. Established in 2015, our team initially engaged in community outreach projects within the Eastern Region districts, shedding light on the struggles faced by mothers and children due to a lack of vital life skills. Recognizing the pressing need to expand our reach and impact, we officially registered the Okoa Mother and Child Initiative (OMC) with relevant government authorities in 2021. "Okoa" is a Swahili word that means "rescue," underscoring our responsibility to identify and rescue the most vulnerable, especially mothers and children, from challenging circumstances.
